Even though this video doesn’t feature her fancy footwork, I am absolutely enthralled by it. In some ways it reminds me of Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Comapres To You” video. It just works on a deep emotional level. Brilliant video for a brilliant song from a brilliant album (and artist).

I’m not sure that an artist has ever had a debut album which was this ambitious & electic. It is kind of like Bowie meets Funkadelic (or Prince meets Radiohead). It is an intoxicating blend of sci-fi & Afrofuturism. It is one of those unique albums that flawlessly synchronizes weirdness with accessibility. Absolutely stunning.
